Hadis: Dates and Fasting

The Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever finds dates should break his fast with them and the one who does not should break his fast with water because it is pure"

Now a days dates can be find at any part of the world with a reasonable price. In Malaysia you will find dates at most of the market or super market. So do we have any reason not to practice the above hadis?
